Moms working outside the home — how many times have you driven to or from work and remembered as you pulled in to your parking spot that you COMPLETELY FORGOT to stop for gas? Moms working from home (whether that be solely child-rearing or other additional employment) — how many times have you been running errands (or school drop-off or what have you) and realized that you need gas but you ALSO need to get these little rugrats down for a nap? Or that the plumber will be at the house in ten minutes? Or . . . you get the picture! How great would it be if someone would just come to your house and fill your gas tank? No dirty gas pump, no begging for snacks or treats from within your car, no accidental gasoline spills on your favorite leather bag (that only happened once . . . but it was once too many)! While they’re at it, how about they check your tire pressure — thereby keeping you and your family safer on the roads (and improving your gas mileage)? Sounds pretty awesome, right? Listen up then — because Yoshi is the service you’ve been dreaming about.

Our experience with the service has been superb. From helpful interactions with their online “concierge” (who is also available by text) to friendly exchanges with one of the gas technicians (who tells us that he loves feeling like the tire pressure checks help keep his customers safer on the road), we’ve received excellent service and been pleased with the ease of use, great prices, and prompt responsiveness.

Tire check

Yoshi [which was founded in Silicon Valley] launched in Nashville last year and has since expanded to Atlanta. It’s super-easy to get signed up — just download the app, fill in your information (location for fill-up, make and model of your car, payment method, and week day you prefer for your fill-up), and Yoshi will notify you once you’re activated (once at least 3 people in your area—either same address or neighbors—sign-up). Membership is only $15 a month—and saves the average commuter 10 hours per year and up to $150/year in gasoline costs. (Yoshi customers get their gasoline at prices that are consistently set to be competitive with the lowest in town—on average 20 cents less per gallon). Furthermore, there’s a positive environmental impact: Yoshi can help save 1 billion gallons of gasoline used on trips to the gas station each year in the US.

Fill Up Downtown

Additionally, Yoshi partners with some pretty fantastic companies to offer further services to members. As mentioned earlier, regular tire pressure checks are part of the gas fill-up services—this is part of their partnership with Firestone (owned by Bridgestone Americas). Yoshi drivers are supplied with air pumps and check and fill tires as needed—for free. And just to take good service a step further, if the tread shows it needs to be replaced, Yoshi alerts the drivers and can connect them with Firestone Mobile Tire Installation (who can a truck to the customer’s car and eliminate the need for an auto shop visit). The tire replacement comes with a $80 fee (which is currently waived as part of a promotion).

Our personal favorite member benefit? The partnership with Music City Auto Spa. This car wash and detailing service comes to your home and does an immaculate job of cleaning your vehicle—right where you live (or work). For us, that meant that we got a two-for-one deal: a clean car and preschooler entertainment!
