Unleash your Inner Kid at Adventure Science Center’s MAD Bash!

One of my favorite places to take our kids here in Nashville is the Adventure Science Center—especially on those days where it is crazy cold or out of control humid here in Nashville. The ASC always has something to see and do and it brings back memories of my own visits to the center when I was a kid (to me it will always be the Cumberland Science Museum). So I was incredibly excited to have the opportunity to help plan the MAD Bash—the annual fundraiser for the Center.

On Saturday, March 5, the Adventure Science Center will transform into a mad scientist’s laboratory for an adult fundraising party that will feature imaginative drinks, amazing food and a chance to enjoy the center with your friends and/or significant other.

Dusty Hill of ZZ Top and his wife, Charleen, are the Honorary Chairs of the event—along with co-chairs Tric Drake and Amanda Sekulow. They have some amazing events and surprises planned including:

Play with fire: Discover what it might be like to hold a meteoroid as you craft a fireball you can hold with your bare hands.

Create Your Own Hologram: Create your very own smartphone hologram device, and watch as the Earth turns, butterflies come to life, and more—right from your phone’s screen!

Exploding Crystal Balls: Watch as a crystal ball grows right in front of your eyes, but make sure to take note of your future quickly—this mad scientist’s crystal ball won’t last long.

Robots: You may not be able to build a fully functioning, communicable robot in one night, but you can discover how to build a simple “robot” using a few items you can find around the house.

Chance to Meet ZZ Top’s Dusty Hill: event patrons will be invited for a special event preview where they will have the chance to meet the rock legend and take home a picture with him.

For all my fellow moms who treasure those rare trips to Target or the grocery store without kids, this is your chance to have a blast acting like a kid—without your kids—while also supporting an amazing organization. So grab you best labcoat (or your favorite dressy-casual outfit) and stilettos and get your tickets at madbash.org!

On a more serious note—unlike other museums across the country who receive the majority of their funding through the public sector, the vast majority of the support for the Adventure Science Center comes from members and local businesses. So we really hope you will consider joining us on March 5th for this amazing event. All proceeds will benefit the Center!
