Shannon just celebrated her 9th anniversary with Nashville after moving down from the Great Canadian North to pursue a career in music publishing. Like her affinity for ripped denim, Nashville was just supposed to be a phase she went through in her early twenties but she ended up meeting her husband here and having an adorable baby boy who doesn’t take s*** from anybody, including his mom. She and her husband recently added twins to the chaos as well. She is a published songwriter and co-author of “Awkward Moments with Men,” a book of humour essays, and is currently working as a freelance writer and researcher. Shannon loves cooking, tolerates exercise, and hates dancing. She is fighting a Swedish Fish addiction that has left her dentist shocked and deeply saddened.
When she moved to Nashville when she was 11, Torrey never knew how deep her roots would run here! She attended Belmont University (Go Bruins!) where she met her husband David. They were married in 2008, and 4 months later, he was off to Iraq for a year. A couple of years after he returned home, they had their first daughter, Madeline, who is a lively redhead that keeps them on their toes! Any and all rumors you’ve ever heard about the nature of redheads are, in fact, true. Their second little girl, Violet, was born in July of last year and is the sweetest little addition. Before having children, she worked as a pediatric nurse for 7 years, and last year worked at two Williamson County high schools as a Health Science teacher. She will once again be staying home with the birth of her second daughter. New to the world of blogging, she looks forward to the experience of getting to share stories, tips and advice with other local moms!
Danielle is a Philadelphia native who made her way to Music City almost four years ago by way of Los Angeles. With both undergraduate and graduate degrees in English, she (of course!) pursued a career in Event Production. After working on many of Hollywood’s biggest parties, she and her husband (Steve) moved to Nashville. She loves all things DIY, buying magazines that she doesn’t have time to read, scouring zillow for houses she can redo in her mind, and spending time with her children (Emmi, Phoenix, and Leo). On her personal blog, Our Tennessee Life, she writes about life, design, food, and whatever else strikes her fancy.
Born and raised in Maryland, Elissa moved to Nashville fourteen years ago and is quite smitten with Music City. She lives in East Nashville in a small, but cozy, fixer upper. A former Montessori teacher, Elissa is currently a stay at home mom for her son (Ziggy) and two daughters (Goldie and Elida). She sometimes teaches an ESL class for adults and also does some freelance writing. Elissa is a hot bath enthusiast and a lover of books.
