It is almost apple picking season, and that means it is time to head out to your favorite orchard from some delicious apples. Summer apples are ready to be harvested starting in early August, while autumn apples are ready later in the year, starting in early September.

Morning Glory Orchard
7690 Nolensville Rd.
Nolensville, TN 37135

Morning Glory Orchard is located just outside of Nolensville and offers many different items. They are a small, second-generation farm and a few of their other products include honey, peaches, cherries, vegetables, jams and preserves. They have many different varieties of apples, available July-September, so now is the perfect time to shop some apples from them. While there, check out the apple cider donuts, only available on Saturdays in the fall. Be sure and check their website for accurate opening days/times and what is in season.

You can also take a self-guided tour for $5 through the orchards. What a great experience for your kids!


Breeden’s Orchard
631 Beckwith Road
Mt. Juliet, TN 37122

Breeden’s Orchard has been open and operating since 1974! They are currently open Wednesday-Saturday, with a night market on Friday nights as well. They have fresh produce, baked goods, gifts and more available. They have a 12-acre peach and apple orchard, and have fun events such as weekend cookouts, and story time! Shade Tree Farm & Orchard
2087 Kinneys Rd.
Adams, TN 37010

Located about 45 minutes northwest of Nashville, you will find Adams and the Shady Tree Farm & Orchard. The owner, farmer Tom Head, began his dream of farming in 1983. He started with vegetables and tobacco, and now has 140 acres. This includes apple trees, peaches, pears, and blueberries.

They have a gift shop with jams, jellies, sauces and other goods. They even serve lunch! They also offer a wonderful educational field trip experience for kids, so this is a great trip to look into, especially if you home school your kiddos.

Jackson’s Orchard

Jackson’s Orchard is a 105-acre farm and has been an orchard for over 100 years.

Open days and hours can be found here and a list of the type of apples and peaches and other produce available for purchase here.

You must ride the hayride in and out of the orchard to participate but it creates an additional opportunity for a family adventure! (Hayrides to the Corn Maze, the Pumpkin Patch, Apple Picking: $4 / children 2 & under FREE)

The farm asks that you allow yourself at least an hour to enjoy hayride, pumpkin patch, corn maze, and to pick your apples. The final hayride of the day usually leaves to go to the patch around 4pm.
