Apple Picking Orchards in the Nashville Area

Whether you’re hoping to recreate your grandmother’s amazing pies, try our recipe for puffed stuffed apples, or you’ve got a yearning for homemade applesauce and apple butter, apple picking is sure to be a fun outing for the whole family. To help make life easier for you, we’ve put together a list of some of the best apple picking orchards within a two hour drive of our city. Grab some bags or baskets, pile into your mom car, and hit the road. To the surprise of many transplants, apple picking time is here in middle Tennessee!

As always, we encourage you to call a location before leaving home to check on hours and availability of apples. Many of the below orchards will put apple picking on hold while apples ripen; some are only selling already-picked this year.

Fruity Patch Farm

2794 Brown Hollow Rd, Columbia, TN 38401

Hours: Daily, sunrise to sunset

The sign on the gate gives instructions on how to get into the farm. Apples are $12/bushel. Pears are $14/bushel.

Jackson’s Orchard

1280 Slim Island Rd, Bowling Green, KY
Hours: 8a-6p Monday-Saturday; Sunday 1-6p.

Jackson’s Orchard is a 105 acre farm and has been an orchard for over 100 years. 

Picking Season is limited to their two fall festivals: AppleFest (Sept 2-4) and The Pumpkin Festival (Sept 30 & Oct 29).

Apple Picking Prices: Peck bag which you can fill up for $15 or simply pick a few at $2/pound.

Pratt’s Orchard

4944 Trousdale Ferry Pike, Lebanon, TN 37087-9715
Hours: 10a-5p Daily

Already picked Mutsu, Yellow Delicious, Fuji, and Winesap apples also for sale.
Limited apples this season.

Apple picking prices: $12 per peck, $7 per 1/2 peck bags or $1 per lb.

Shade Tree Farm

2087 Kinneys Road, Adams, Tennessee 37010
Hours: 10a-4p Thursday through Sunday
Labor Day weekend until the first week of November—or until the apples run out.
In addition to apples (for sale in the store as well as pick your own for families who want to have the orchard experience), they have mums, pumpkins, decorative corn and cider is made on site. (Check their Facebook page!) Try some along with hamburgers, hot dogs, white beans & cornbread, Shade Tree grilled ham/cheese/apple sandwich, and more in their on-site cafe.
Apple picking pricing: 1 bushel-$36, 1/2 bushel-$20, 1 peck-$12, 1/2 peck-$8, 1/4 peck-$5.
