The Best Local Pizza Places in Nashville

0

Whether it’s  Neapolitan, New York, or Chicago-style, pizza is pretty much the perfect food. I mean, it’s got the whole food pyramid covered. Cheese? Check. Bread? Check. Meat? Lots of checks. Vegetables? Sure, you could do that…and tomato sauce is a fruit, right? So here at the Nashville Moms Blog, we’ve done some extensive research into the topic of pizza and compiled a list of some of our favorite local pizza joints. We suggest you try them all!

Amico’s New York Pizza & Italian Restaurant
7177 Nolensville Road (Nolensville)

We’ve been told it’s the most authentic Italian pizza in our area. You be the judge.

Bella Napoli Pizzeria
1200 Villa Place Suite 206 (Edgehill Village)

Neapolitan style pizza might seem a little strange if you’re not familiar with it, but for those who love it? This place is a delicious must.

Castrillo’s Pizza
3501 Park Avenue (Sylvan Park), 1404A McGavock Pike (East Nashville)

Castrillo’s is a a great option for carryout or delivery, as it’s not really a sit-down place. Their homemade crust has a special place in my heart.

DeSano Pizza Bakery
115 16th Avenue South (Music Row)

Several of our team members named DeSano’s as a top choice for pizza. It’s a small chain with an open kitchen, so you can see the staff cooking the Neapolitan pizzas in wood-burning ovens. The Diavaolo is a favorite if you’re a fan of heat!

Five Points Pizza
1012 Woodland St. (East Nashville)

Another top pick among our contributors is the New York-style pizza from Five Points. They’ve got a carryout window up front and a busy dining room. Bonus: If you’re eating in, they’ll give the kids a little ball of dough to play with while you wait for your pie to arrive. Oh, and don’t miss those garlic knots!

Gondola House Pizzeria
4613 Lebanon Pike (Hermitage)

A family-friendly restaurant with lots of pizza and pasta options. It’s inexpensive, and you’ll likely have leftovers to take home with you! They make a mean bread pudding for dessert too.

Italia Pizza and Pasta
1600 Woodland St. (East Nashville)

What really sets Italia apart is their gluten-free and vegan options. And they deliver to just about any part of town!

MAFIAoZA’s Pizzeria and Neighborhood Pub
2400 12th Avenue South (12 South)

Their Tuesday 2-for-1 slices are an offer you can’t refuse. (Insert any other Godfather style joke you like.)

Pizza Perfect
1602 21st Ave. (Hillsboro Village), 357 Clofton Dr. (Bellevue)

I’m pretty sure Pizza Perfect is the only place on this list that has been in Nashville longer than I have. It’s old school, casual, charming—and convenient.

PizzeReal
203 N. 11th Street (East Nashville)

A quiet place for a family meal and another good option for those looking for gluten-free pizza.

312 Pizza Company
371 Monroe Street (Germantown)

312 Pizza Company specializes in Chicago-style pizza, which due to its thick crust takes quite a while to cook. You may want to call ahead and pre-order your pie—or at the very least come in ready to order and enjoy an app and a drink while you wait.

Many pizzas were harmed during the making of this article. Many, many pizzas.

These are some of our favorite local pizza places. I know there are many, many more out there.
Which one should we try next?
