No More Funky Feet :: Homemade Foot Spray for Father’s Day

Around our house, we’ve got a lot of stinky summer sandal feet. I imagine that we’re not alone. My husband would argue that he is not the worst offender (with good reason—we’ve got an eleven year old boy and a three year old boy). However, the boys and I decided that with Father’s Day coming up, he would be the recipient of our homemade foot spray. He could then dole out sprays to little boy feet (and sandals) as he deemed necessary. Not only was this a super-simple homemade gift (the kids could totally help), but I think each of us will be benefiting from it!

  • Vodka (you could use rubbing alcohol but vodka is anti-septic, less drying, and we had it on hand!)
  • Essential Oils (Lots of options here! We chose lavender and rosemary both for their anti-fungal properties and their lovely {strong} scents. Tea tree oil, peppermint, and lemon are other nice choices. We picked ours up at Sprouts recently — they’ve got such a wide and affordable range of options!)
  • Small Refillable Spray Bottle

What You Do:

Open spray bottle and pour in 3 to 4 ounces of vodka. Let the kiddos pour into a measuring cup (if you dare), and then use a funnel to get it into the bottle. Add 3 – 5 drops of each essential oil. Cap the bottle and shake to combine! We created a little “No More Funky Feet Foot Spray” hand-made label (totally optional, of course), and wrapped it up in a bag (mama is not a wrapper).
