A Luxurious Night at the Omni Nashville

My family and I were offered the chance to stay a night at the Omni Hotel in downtown Nashville over the holidays, and we readily agreed! Our stay was the perfect way to spend a night during our week of vacation. I feel as though our experience can be summed up in three words: delicious, beautiful, fun. Let me tell you why!

Delicious

Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a basket of goodies, many of them locally sourced. Our four year old dove into them immediately— before I could even snap a picture. Bacon Brittle, Green Apple Kettle Corn…yum! We were hungry, but instead of filling up on snacks (those were for later), we headed down for dinner at Kitchen Notes.

Tasty Treats !

Kitchen Notes, the restaurant inside The Omni Nashville, is—in a word—incredible. Our server, Jamie, made the meal especially enjoyable and played along as our little girl told him stories of our “hotel adventures.” We ordered the fried chicken, which was the perfect balance of salty, crunchy, peppery, and absolutely amazing. We also enjoyed the mac and cheese and trout spread with pickled veggies and house made chips. WOW. Even my rather picky husband was “mmmm-ing” through the entire meal.

Since we dined pretty early, we were hungry before bed. So, as a treat for our daughter, we ordered room service — cookies and ice cold milk. It was a fun way to end the night, and she felt very fancy having cookies delivered to our door.

Beautiful

Not only were we able to simply enjoy the beautiful accommodations of the Omni, we were surprised with an Executive Suite. The suit was a corner of the hotel with floor to ceiling windows — facing downtown! Get out of here with those views! We slept with the curtains in our room open just to enjoy them more.  Since I woke early, I sat on the floor in front of one of the windows and enjoyed the sunrise. It was an experience I can’t fully describe, to be surrounded by the city yet high above the streets in my comfy Omni robe.

My view as the last moments of darkness faded before sunrise

Our room included two bathrooms — one full and one half, a  living room with those same floor to ceiling windows, and a private bedroom for my husband and I. Our bathroom was huge and included a large walk in shower and a nice tub that my four year old took a bubble bath “swim” in. Pardon the chocolate milk ring on her face. By far the most luxurious hotel I’ve ever stayed in!

 Fun

Everything I’ve talked about is part of the fun we had, of course, but there was even more to be had! After our delicious meal at Kitchen Notes, we sat down by the fire in the den outside of the lobby. Check out this beautiful fire place! Claire enjoyed dancing in front of it and stretching out to warm up.

I’ll take one of these at home, please.

In the morning, we woke up early and headed down to the pool. I didn’t expect the pool to be open in the winter. But packed a suit just in case. Outside swimming in the winter? We’re in! The spa and pool were both heated, but 42* weather made me a bit more drawn to the warmer, bubblier water.

“Mom, let me get into the water! It’s cold.”

The rooftop pool is gorgeous. And it hosts a bar in the summer! I can’t wait to go back for a stay-cation and enjoy a drink in the warmth of the sun.

Thank you so much, Omni Nashville, for having our family for a night at your beautiful hotel. We made memories that will last a lifetime.
