Moms Who Mean Business :: Paper Moon

In the days leading up to Small Business Saturday, we will be featuring each of our Moms Who Mean Business :: Mompreneur Search winners. We encourage you to check out their businesses, consider shopping locally this holiday season, and—of course—to enter their giveaways! We love Nashville, we love moms, and we think that shopping with local “mompreneurs” is the best way to support local businesses and each other.

Please tell us a little about yourself and your family! What brought you to Nashville and how long have you been here?
I’ve lived in Nashville all my life! I may be the only one! I lived in Colorado for a while, but my family was here so I moved back.
What, in your opinion, is the best thing about living in Nashville?
I have watched Nashville grow by leaps and bounds. I couldn’t be more proud of my city. I love that it offers everything a big city has to offer but still has that small town feel. I think it’s because folks are so friendly here.
How many kids do you have and what are their names/ages? What’s your favorite thing they are doing right now?
I have 3 kids, Chelsea, Mia and Kai. Chelsea is my grown child, and she started her first year of teaching high school English last August. Mia is 15 and a sophomore at St.Cecilia. She just got recommended for the Governor’s School for the Arts where she will spend a month at a college taking a variety of art classes from drawing to sculpting and printing. Kai is 8 and in 2nd grade at Linden Waldorf School. He loves drawing comic strips and is pretty darn good, His grandfather drew a comic strip for the business section of the newspaper, so I say he takes after him.
Tell us what inspired your business?
My business was inspired by my love of crafting, gypsy caravans, and my desire to travel! That sounds hilarious all together like that!
What do you love about it?
I love the look in the children’s eyes when they first enter the airstream. It’s very affirming.
What’s your favorite part about being a mompreneur?
My favorite part of being a mompreneur would have to be that I can share my business with my family. The children have watched my husband and I create something out of nothing. These are good lessons for children…Never give up on your dreams…
