If you’ve ever experienced a Nashville Summer, you know just how very hot and humid it can get. Summer’s lazy days of reading, ice cream treats, Summer movies, Summer camp, and truly fantastic farmers markets have a great addition in our city — a wide variety of pools and water play! We’ve rounded up a list of the best places in and around Nashville to beat the heat and enjoy your Tennessee summer.
Nashville Shores Waterpark
Nashville Shores Waterpark features more than 1 million gallons of summer fun including thrilling slides, a wave pool, lazy river, pools, a beautiful beach, lake cruises and more family-friendly attractions.

Maryland Farms YMCA Pool (and other local YMCA branches)
There are more than a dozen YMCA locations in the greater Nashville area. Each offers a (less expensive) “location only” membership as well as a membership for the network of branches. Additionally, we saw on their site that they’re kicking off Summer by waiving their joining fee, so now is a great time to grab a membership! One favorite branch with families in the Summer is the Maryland Farms YMCA for its Olympic-size pool and a kid-friendly water park. The Olympic-sized pool features two 13-foot flume slides. The zero-entry, 3-foot-deep water park is decked with a 5-foot slide, 100-gallon dumping bucket, 10 different spray water features, a splash pad and 2-foot-deep baby pool.
