Fall = Football Season!

I’ve often seen this quote. “There are two times of year for me: Football season and waiting for football season.” I couldn’t agree more! As far as I’m concerned, the best and most important season of the four seasons is Football Season! While I tend to prefer warmer weather, I don’t mind bundling up to enjoy America’s pastime. As a girl who loves football? Nothing makes me happier than the start of football season.

Football season starts with NFL preseason in August. Then the glory runs through the Super Bowl in February. I enjoy plenty of college football fun squeezed in between. But, is six to seven months of football enough? Never! As soon as football season ends? I am usually depressed. Winter wears on, and my weekends are no longer full of fun games to watch on TV. Sure, there is College Football National Signing day in February and the NFL draft in April. But there is nothing like the thrill of the games to make your entire fall exciting.

Once NFL preseason games are over? On we march to the start of college football! Labor Day weekend kicked off the start of college football. Games ran Thursday August 29th through Monday September 3rd. Color me happy!

NFL kicks regular season kicked of September 6th. Our Tennessee Titans played their first home game at Nissan Stadium on Sunday September 16th at 12:00 pm, taking on the Houston Texans.

Next year? Football fans in Nashville get a special treat —The Draft! The NFL draft will be hosted in Nashville, Tennessee on April 25-27, 2019.

Both College National Signing Day and the NFL draft enable the serious football fans to extend our love of football nearly year round.

Courtney Paterson
Courtney was born and raised in Franklin, Tennessee. She is a graduate of The University of Tennessee, Knoxville and the Cecil C. Humphrey School of Law at the University of Memphis. A practicing civil litigation attorney in downtown Nashville, she may look familiar — because she was featured in a Krystal commercial with two of her friends and her face was on the Krystal cup while that commercial aired. Courtney is a huge fan of football, and when she is not traveling, she can be found checking out live music in Nashville. She currently lives in Franklin with her husband Clark, baby girl Elaine (who is the easiest/sweetest baby, and the love of their lives), and 11 year old mixed breed dog Penny.
